Construction has started for the Schooner Memory Care Facility! Design Excursion to Kwalu

Gawron Turgeon Architects' interior designers, Mary Turgeon and Rachel Redfearn, recently traveled with our partners at the Maine Veterans' Homes to visit the Kwalu showroom in Atlanta, Georgia. Kwalu specializes in designing beautiful and durable furniture for senior living and healthcare facilities. Design excursions like this are incredibly useful for enabling clients to participate in the selection of furniture for the spaces we design. Kwalu were wonderful hosts and our team left Atlanta feeling inspired by the furniture options for this project—a...

Waterville Riverwalk

Located along the Kennebec River on a 12-acre vacant lot that used to support the Wyandotte mill, the Waterville Riverwalk is a 2,200 ft curving walkway that winds along the riverbank from the Ticonic Falls to the Two...

The Mooring on Foreside - Small house concept

News about our award-winning memory care design

The Mooring on Foreside—a project that is dear to us for so many reasons—receives a great write-up in Senior Living News. The Mooring's founder and principle, Lynn Peel, had a strong vision that this would be a memory care home with a difference; that it would look and feel like a real home with a small footprint and an intimate setting, in turn enabling individualized care for each and every resident. Rebecca Dillon was Gawron Turgeon's lead architect for this project, and...
